The journey I went through to write the New York Times and Lab Report Response wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. I have a bad habit of procrastinating so I waited till the last minute to do the essays. I think I would have gotten a better grade on my New York Times response essay if I would have taken it more seriously and started it earlier. Procrastinating put more stress on me and my goal shifted from doing the best I can to just getting the work done. Another challenge I went through was choosing a news article to write my essay about. There were some news articles that I was interested in reading but once I checked how long the article was, it was too short. I also had a similar issue with find a lab report. The first few lab reports I encountered, I could not understand the report because it had many scientific terms I did not know.

Some things I need to improve on getting straight to the point. I tend to make my introductions longer than what’s necessary. I also need to work on my grammar. Sometimes I mix up the words weather and whether. What I would change the next time I write a response essay is instead of writing down “the author”, I would write down the authors actual name. Also instead of using first person, I will write “the audience” or “the readers”.
